Solutions Architect – Media

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Independently spearhead technical discovery and solution design for customer workloads encompassing data engineering, analytics, and machine learning.

• Develop and present proofs-of-concept and live demonstrations on the Databricks Platform.

• Maintain primary technical relationships with customer engineers, data teams, and technical leads.

• Collaborate with the Account Executive to create account-level technical strategies aimed at enhancing platform usage.

• Effectively communicate Databricks' unique offerings through practical demonstrations in competitive environments.

• Contribute to the creation of reusable technical assets, including notebooks, solution accelerators, and reference architectures.

• Conduct discovery sessions, whiteboarding exercises, and architecture reviews with clients.

• Create and showcase a live solution during the interview process.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in data engineering, solutions architecture, technical pre-sales, or hands-on consulting.

• Expertise in Python and SQL; capable of debugging, optimizing, and producing high-quality production code.

• Live coding is a mandatory component of the interview process.

• Practical experience in designing and implementing data solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Familiarity with distributed data systems such as Apache Spark, Delta Lake, Hadoop, Kafka, or Flink.

• Proven experience leading technical discussions with customers, including discovery, whiteboarding, and architecture reviews.

• Knowledge of data engineering, data science/machine learning, or SQL analytics.

• Excellent presentation and demonstration abilities; live solution presentation is required during the interview.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Databricks certification or experience with the Databricks Platform is advantageous.

• Familiarity with Unity Catalog, Lakeflow Spark Declarative Pipelines, or MLflow is preferred.

• Experience with a data/AI firm, cloud provider, or technical consulting company is a plus.
