This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Serve as the primary subject matter expert in enterprise data visualization, reporting architecture, human-centered design, and the adoption of analytics.
• Facilitate discovery workshops, conduct analytics maturity assessments, lead roadmap engagements, and organize executive strategy sessions.
• Develop enterprise reporting architectures, encompassing semantic model strategies, workspace and application structure, certification and endorsement models, reusability standards, and boundaries for self-service enablement.
• Design and manage Power BI implementations, including semantic models, transformations using Power Query, DAX logic, composite and Direct Lake models, and performance optimization.
• Create models for row-level and object-level security, as well as architectures for workspace access.
• Oversee integration efforts between Power BI and Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, Azure Data Services, and upstream data engineering workflows.
• Provide guidance to executive stakeholders, business leaders, analyst teams, and technical groups on scalable analytics solutions.
• Conduct design reviews and enablement initiatives that enhance client capabilities post-engagement.
• Set enterprise reporting design and accessibility standards that comply with WCAG 2 and Section 508, aligning with platform capabilities.
• Establish quality delivery practices, including reviews of semantic models, performance testing, documentation, version control, and deployment pipelines.
• Contribute visualization accelerators and reusable delivery assets.
• Implement delivery standards and AI-accelerated patterns during client engagements.
• Advise organizations on analytics preparedness for Microsoft 365 Copilot and AI-assisted reporting.
• Evaluate the quality of semantic models, naming conventions, documentation, and metadata maturity to ensure trustworthy AI-assisted analytics.
• Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Information Design, Information Systems, Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of five years of experience in delivering enterprise analytics, business intelligence, or data visualization solutions, with a significant focus on Power BI.
• Practical experience in enterprise-scale Power BI implementations.
• Proficient in dimensional modeling, semantic model design, Power Query, DAX, Tabular Editor, and performance tuning.
• Proven experience in designing enterprise reporting architectures that are widely adopted, including security, workspace, and endorsement models.
• Background in leading customer-facing consulting engagements, executive workshops, design reviews, and strategic advisory initiatives.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and Direct Lake semantic models.
• Experience applying human-centered design and information design principles to enterprise reporting solutions.
• Working knowledge of accessibility standards.
• Experience with data engineering and data governance architectures as they pertain to data visualization.
• Exceptional communication, facilitation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Willingness to travel to SHI, partner, and customer locations as necessary.
• Capability to work independently while collaborating with sales, delivery, engineering, and leadership stakeholders.
• Dedication to continuous learning in data visualization, analytics, and AI platforms.
• Strong ethical principles, with a commitment to data privacy, governance, compliance, and security policies.
• Preferred: experience in creating custom Power BI visuals using Deneb, Vega-Lite, or similar frameworks.
• Preferred: experience with Azure Databricks and Lakehouse architectures on Azure.
• Preferred: experience supporting Microsoft 365 Copilot enablement for analytics.
• Preferred: exposure to Microsoft Purview, cataloging, and lineage.
• Preferred: experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub, Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD practices that support Power BI deployments.
• Preferred: experience establishing analytics centers of excellence, champion programs, or author enablement communities.
