This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the primary technical and strategic consultant for enterprise data governance projects within client engagements.
• Develop governance strategies and design governance architectures.
• Facilitate governance discovery workshops, maturity evaluations, roadmap projects, and executive strategy meetings.
• Create enterprise governance frameworks, stewardship models, ownership structures, governance policies, business glossaries, taxonomy standards, and metadata management processes.
• Design and oversee the implementation of Microsoft Purview Data Governance functionalities.
• Set governance standards for structured data assets across platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services, Power BI, SQL Server, Snowflake, Azure Databricks, and others.
• Assist clients in establishing sustainable governance processes, operational procedures, and stewardship responsibilities.
• Provide guidance to executive stakeholders, data leaders, governance councils, and technical teams.
• Convert business objectives, regulatory requirements, and operational needs into scalable governance solutions.
• Lead client-facing workshops, architecture evaluations, roadmap conversations, and governance design meetings.
• Create governance monitoring and operational reporting solutions using Azure Monitor, Azure Log Analytics, and relevant observability tools.
• Implement processes for governance measurement, stewardship accountability, data quality reporting, lineage monitoring, and tracking governance adoption.
• Contribute governance accelerators, reference architectures, and reusable delivery resources.
• Utilize delivery standards and AI-accelerated delivery methods while identifying potential areas for enhancement.
• Advise organizations on governance preparedness for Microsoft 365 Copilot and enterprise AI projects.
• Evaluate metadata maturity, lineage coverage, ownership models, and governance controls for responsible AI adoption.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Computer Science, Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least seven years of experience in delivering enterprise data, information management, or data governance solutions, with a significant recent emphasis on governance.
• Practical implementation experience with Microsoft Purview, including Unified Catalog, Data Map, Data Estate Insights, business glossary, metadata management, and data lineage.
• Proven experience in establishing data stewardship programs, including executive sponsorship, ownership structures, accountability frameworks, and adoption strategies.
• Experience leading customer-facing consulting projects, executive workshops, governance evaluations, and strategic advisory efforts.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, and Azure.
• Knowledge of data engineering and data visualization architectures and their connection to governance.
• Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and governance reporting.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with Azure Databricks and Unity Catalog, including governance and cataloging across Azure-based lakehouse environments.
• Experience supporting Microsoft 365 Copilot enablement, AI governance frameworks, and enterprise AI adoption initiatives.
• Familiarity with agentic systems such as Microsoft Foundry and Copilot Studio.
• Experience designing governance monitoring solutions using Azure Monitor and Azure Log Analytics.
• Knowledge of Azure DevOps, GitHub, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and CI/CD practices supporting data and analytics platforms.
• Experience working in regulated industries including healthcare, financial services, insurance, manufacturing, or public sector organizations.
• Willingness to travel to SHI, partner, and customer locations as required.
• Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with sales, delivery, engineering, and leadership stakeholders.
