Solutions Architect, Automotive – Korean Speaking

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Korea.

📋 Description

• Solutions Architects serve as trusted technical and business consultants who collaborate with customers to design, prototype, and implement solutions on the Mapbox platform.

• You will engage directly with customers and account teams to identify needs, develop architectures, and deliver solutions that transform data, mobility, and mapping into impactful digital experiences and measurable business outcomes.

• Collaborate with Sales to highlight Mapbox’s technical value and shape new opportunities.

• Lead technical discovery sessions to grasp customer goals, requirements, and success metrics, ensuring that solution designs align with business objectives.

• Create and showcase scalable architectures utilizing Mapbox SDKs, APIs, and platform services.

• Address technical customer inquiries (RFI/RFQ) with comprehensive technical documentation and solution proposals.

• Provide technical support during the pre-sales phase and facilitate quick technical enablement via workshops, demonstrations, and PoC/PoV in a fast-paced digital customer setting.

• Propel customer success by expediting time-to-value and fostering adoption and growth in a dynamic, complex ecosystem.

• Champion customer needs and offer structured feedback to influence the direction of product and engineering.

• Keep abreast of advancements in mapping, mobility, and AI technologies, sharing best practices both internally and with customers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in solutions architecture, customer-facing engineering (pre-sales, post-sales), or consulting.

• Proficient in both Korean and English (written and verbal communication).

• Location: Must be based in Japan or South Korea.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

• Familiarity with web and mobile technologies (JavaScript, Android, iOS).

• Experience in developing applications that integrate back-end APIs with front-end SDKs.

• Background in GIS, location intelligence, geospatial data, and mapping is advantageous.

• Experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is beneficial.

• Knowledge of AI technologies is a plus.

• Proven experience leading technical responses for RFI/RFQ and crafting detailed technical proposals.

• Strong business acumen and the ability to work independently across distributed teams.

• Demonstrated capability to convert complex requirements into scalable, robust architectures that align with customer goals.

• Excellent communication skills with both technical and executive audiences, coupled with a proven ability to influence executive, product, engineering, and developer stakeholders.

• Experience collaborating with OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers.

• Understanding of the Automotive industry and its ecosystem technologies including navigation, autonomous driving, ADAS, ISA, and software-defined vehicles.

• Willingness to travel up to 25% for customer meetings, workshops, and industry events.
