This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Saudi Arabia, +1 more country.
• Take ownership of the complete solution architecture for designated platforms and workstreams, addressing application, data, integration, security, and deployment aspects.
• Convert business and regulatory needs into architectural choices, clearly articulating any trade-offs involved.
• Create and update formal architecture deliverables, including architecture vision, high-level designs, integration designs, and decision records.
• Establish service boundaries, API contracts, data ownership, and event models within a distributed system.
• Design integrations with external and third-party systems, defining adapter and anti-corruption patterns.
• Specify the non-functional requirements — including scalability, availability, performance, resilience, and observability — and ensure the design aligns with these standards.
• Incorporate security and compliance requirements into the architecture by collaborating with security and risk stakeholders.
• Facilitate design reviews, mentor engineering leads, and oversee implementation in accordance with the established architecture.
• Assess technologies and vendors, providing evidence-based recommendations.
• Identify architectural risks, assumptions, dependencies, and unresolved decisions, and drive them to resolution.
• Assist in estimation, technical scoping, and delivery planning in collaboration with product and delivery leadership.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Over 8 years of experience in software engineering, with a minimum of 3 years in an architectural capacity focused on large, multi-service systems.
• A solid foundation in software development, possessing sufficient current knowledge to review code and designs effectively.
• Strong expertise in distributed system design, including microservices, service boundaries, API design and versioning, and event-driven architecture.
• Extensive experience with a major backend ecosystem — such as Java and Spring Boot, or a comparable enterprise platform.
• Proficient in data architecture: relational modeling, persistence strategies, and managing transactional integrity and consistency across services.
• A robust understanding of security architecture, covering identity and access management, OAuth2 / OpenID Connect, authorization models, encryption, and secrets management.
• Experience in designing for cloud-native or containerized deployments (Kubernetes or OpenShift) and CI/CD delivery methods.
• Demonstrated ability to create clear architecture documentation and diagrams that engineers can effectively utilize.
• Exceptional stakeholder communication skills — capable of maintaining a technical stance under scrutiny and translating it into understandable terms for a non-technical audience.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses.
• Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
• Opportunities for professional development and continuous learning.
• Flexible work hours and the possibility of remote work.
• Supportive work environment with a focus on innovation and collaboration.
