This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as a Solutions Architect facilitating enterprise-level testing, modernization, and integration initiatives within the Department of Veterans Affairs.
• Provide support to the VA EHRM application testing team.
• Design, assess, implement, test, and oversee technical architecture solutions across VistA and associated systems.
• Formulate architecture strategies, perform feasibility studies, and direct integration analyses for VA enterprise systems.
• Independently gather and define architecture requirements, ensuring alignment with VA, EHRM, and enterprise standards.
• Analyze architectural components and database structures, conduct risk assessments, and establish architectures for testing and staging environments.
• Contribute to enterprise testing strategies and assist in system integration efforts.
• Design and assess architecture components and formulate system-level testing strategies.
• Ensure technical coherence across VistA, EHRM, and enterprise testing settings.
• Engage in collaborative meetings with VA clients, contract partners, VA project teams, and technical stakeholders.
• Generate architectural and technical analysis reports with minimal oversight.
• Utilize enterprise architecture tools, repositories, and governance processes to uphold architecture artifacts and documentation.
• Manage multiple responsibilities, adjust to shifting priorities, and work autonomously.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Engineering, or a related field combined with relevant experience.
• At least 10 years of professional IT experience, encompassing architecture design, software engineering, system integration, and database-oriented solution development.
• Proven experience with VistA or other MUMPS-based systems, including FileMan structures and cross-system interfaces.
• Practical experience with Oracle or SQL Server in UNIX, VMS, and/or Windows environments.
• Established capability in designing and analyzing system architectures, particularly within complex healthcare settings.
• Must comply with federal security standards and obtain/maintain a Government-issued security clearance.
• Existing access to the VA network is preferred.
• Experience supporting healthcare, VA, or DoD systems is preferred.
• Familiarity with Python, Java, or J2EE applications is preferred.
• Knowledge of HP Quality Center, Rational ClearQuest, or risk-based testing methodologies is preferred.
• Experience with AI-assisted development, automated analytics, or intelligent testing tools is preferred.
• Understanding of REST/SOAP interfaces, HL7/FHIR data exchange, and legacy-to-modern system integrations is preferred.
• Experience in UNIX/VMs/Windows environments.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Familiarity with communication tools like Teams and SharePoint.
