Solutions Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design and architecture solutions for web, mobile, and cloud systems, including both new projects and modernization efforts.

• Perform technical discovery involving stakeholder interviews, gathering requirements and constraints, conducting risk analysis, and estimating efforts.

• Create architecture artifacts such as C4/UML diagrams, sequence/data flows, and Architectural Decision Records (ADRs), while collaborating on Statements of Work (SOWs), proposals, and technical roadmaps.

• Assist the sales team during technical calls, RFP responses, scoping discussions, and demonstrations, translating business objectives into actionable engineering strategies.

• Mentor and enhance the skills of engineers through design and code reviews, paired programming, and architectural coaching.

• Actively contribute to projects as required—writing code, troubleshooting complex problems, and helping teams overcome obstacles.

• Provide guidance on complex client projects, offering advice on scalability, performance, integrations, and architectural challenges, even when not directly assigned.

• Establish reference architectures, coding standards, and CI/CD/IaC patterns while advocating for reliability, observability, and cost efficiency.

• Lead the assessment of new technologies and frameworks, creating Proofs of Concept (PoCs) and spikes to validate technical hypotheses.

• Ensure that non-functional requirements (availability, latency, compliance, security) are fulfilled and quantifiable.

• Document and formalize the Solutions Architect role at AgilityIO by developing guidelines, success metrics, and scalable frameworks for future architects.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in software development and architecture, including at least 2 years in a leadership or client-facing technical position.

• Demonstrated experience in designing scalable systems on AWS or Azure, including serverless architectures, containers/Kubernetes, microservices, and event-driven solutions.

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript (Node.js) and modern front-end frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue); knowledge of an additional programming language such as C#, Python, or similar is also required.

• Solid background in DevOps/IaC practices (Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation) and familiarity with CI/CD, monitoring, and observability methodologies.

• Comfortable leading discovery sessions, estimating project scopes, and collaborating on proposals and SOWs with sales and delivery teams.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities, with the ability to seamlessly bridge technical and business viewpoints in English.

• A hands-on approach, capable of prototyping, writing code, and guiding implementations while retaining architectural oversight.
