Solution Consultant – R&D

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Collaborate effectively with account executives, SC peers, and leadership to devise account and deal strategies that drive selection, while planning customer engagements that yield compelling solutions.

• Conduct organized discovery sessions to identify customer needs and requirements related to decision criteria and critical business issues.

• Develop solutions leveraging Benchling capabilities, industry best practices, and standard R&D functions, incorporating data models and processes that align with the customer's or prospect's scientific needs and fit their existing technology landscape.

• Present and showcase the solution persuasively, focusing on key messages, decision criteria, and significant business issues. Address customer inquiries and objections, resolving any concerns. Ensure the solution is presented in a competitive manner, considering alternatives such as in-house development.

• Collaborate with product management to share insights on prospect and customer needs as well as industry trends. Influence the roadmap for market success, ensuring that it is clear to customers as needed to support their buying decisions.

• Provide leadership by developing reusable solutions, content, and training for essential areas. Collaborate with the extended team to facilitate their success and share your expertise. Mentor and partner with other SCs to enhance their success.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Chemistry, or a similar Life Science field, with at least 4 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a customer-facing role.

• Experience with scientific/informatics software such as LIMS, ELN, or related tools is preferred. Familiarity with antibody engineering software is an advantage.

• REQUIRED - Practical experience in antibody discovery and engineering, either as a bench scientist or in a technical position supporting biologics teams.

• Proven ability to effectively model scientific data and create solutions based on product knowledge and industry best practices. Previous experience in demonstrating and supporting research instruments, reagents, or software is desired.

• Familiarity with research technology commonly adopted by biopharma companies.

• Possess an agile and adaptable mindset, with the capacity to swiftly implement new customer engagement processes.

• Ability to establish trust as an advisor for scientists and successfully present to scientific buyers.

• Must be fluent in English; fluency in German or French is a plus.

• Willingness to travel to customer sites 25-30% of the time.
