Solution Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Croatia.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the complete technical architecture for the platform as we work towards stabilizing and transitioning it to the cloud.

• Strengthen the current on-premise deployment by enhancing fault detection and observability for video-capture hardware and streaming (RTSP) feeds, integrating with an OpenTelemetry-based observability stack (SigNoz).

• Plan and oversee the migration from on-premise NFS storage to a hosted AWS environment (EKS/S3), ensuring the existing video processing and anonymization pipeline is maintained while establishing a clear boundary between on-premise and cloud.

• Create the cloud architecture design and data migration strategy, along with the infrastructure-as-code framework (Terraform, Kubernetes) that supports it.

• Set the architectural direction for the delivery team to follow, and document decisions comprehensively so that your presence is not required in every discussion.

• Collaborate directly with the client’s engineering leadership as the primary technical authority; identify risks and technical debt early, and adjust the plan collaboratively when necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated expertise in AWS solution architecture: EKS, S3, VPC, IAM, and networking.

• Practical experience in migrating production workloads from on-premise to the cloud.

• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, along with production Kubernetes/container orchestration, Ansible, and Swarm.

• Knowledge of observability architecture: designing OpenTelemetry pipelines and handling metrics/traces/logs (SigNoz, or equivalent tools like Grafana/Prometheus/Tempo).

• Strong architectural understanding across a Django / React / Go technology stack.

• Excellent design documentation discipline; your outputs will guide the direction for the team’s development.

• Client-facing capabilities; you will provide technical leadership to a customer CTO and their engineering teams.

• As a Senior team member, you will be expected to engage actively in our hiring processes by participating on interview panels for future company roles.
