This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Ensure that all work is conducted in compliance with safety regulations and protocols.
• Review and confirm that appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is available and utilized correctly.
• Develop PLOTO and LOTO Switch plans for necessary approvals.
• Serve as the work leader for Pre-Job Briefs, Job Safety Analysis, Personal LOTO, and switch plan LOTO.
• Lead thorough inspections of solar energy facilities.
• Create and execute preventative maintenance initiatives.
• Oversee and mentor junior technicians on inspection and maintenance practices.
• Diagnose and resolve complex system challenges, including grid integration and communication issues.
• Employ advanced diagnostic tools and software to identify and rectify system performance concerns.
• Formulate and apply corrective action strategies.
• Generate and maintain detailed documentation of inspections, maintenance activities, and repairs.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations intended for management review.
• Keep abreast of industry developments and emerging technologies.
• Offer technical direction and mentorship to junior technicians.
• Participate in the creation of training materials and procedural guidelines.
• 2–4 years of experience in the solar sector or a related electrical field.
• Valid Colorado Journeyman Electrician license issued by the DORA State Electrical Board.
• An associate's degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
• Certifications in OSHA 30-hour and NFPA 70e are required.
• FAA Part 107 Certification (or demonstrated proficiency in operating drones for aerial thermographic purposes).
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, solar energy technologies, and grid-tied systems.
• Skilled in using diagnostic tools such as I/V Curve Tracers, Meggers, and Isolation testers.
• Capability to read and interpret intricate electrical schematics and engineering diagrams.
• A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are mandatory.
• Performance bonuses of up to 8% paid out annually.
