Software Tester

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and uphold test plans, test cases, and test scripts for web-based applications.

• Conduct functional, regression, integration, and system testing.

• Record test outcomes, monitor defects, and confirm resolutions through collaboration with developers.

• Clearly document defects and track them until they are resolved.

• Validate data integrations using SQL databases.

• Work closely with developers, product owners, and fellow testers during sprint activities.

• Engage in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

• Maintain test-related tasks and statuses on the sprint board.

• Assist help desk investigations by reproducing and documenting reported issues.

• Contribute to test automation initiatives when applicable.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree with two (2) years of experience; alternatively, six (6) years of experience may be accepted in place of a degree (as per contract vehicle).

• Experience in software testing for web applications.

• Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.

• Proficiency with test management or issue-tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, TFS).

• Understanding of C#, .NET Framework/.NET 8+ environments at a level adequate for testing functionality.

• Capability to write clear and repeatable test cases and assess software behavior against requirements.

• Basic knowledge of SQL for validating test data.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• A commitment to continuously improving testing processes, tools, and personal skillset.
