Software Test Engineer – Contract Role

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Become a member of the Software QA team to develop, implement, and uphold testing frameworks for back-end services.

• Adopt a proactive stance in pinpointing issues and crafting automated test cases.

• Collaborate across various functions with Engineering, Product Management, and Project teams.

• Ensure product quality from the initial concept stage through to the final release.

• Operate in a fully remote setting while fostering engagement and communication among teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field is highly preferred. Candidates with equivalent hands-on experience in software testing, quality assurance, or test automation within backend systems are also welcome to apply.

• Demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, and creative thinking abilities.

• Excel in designing test cases and documenting test descriptions/test plans.

• Thrive in determining what needs testing, creating the corresponding tests, and executing them. You possess the ability to identify potential bugs before they arise and isolate existing ones.

• Have knowledge and experience with Java, SQL, and Python. Familiarity with AWS data tools (S3, Redshift, RDS, and EMR) is advantageous.

• Exhibit a strong dedication to technical quality assurance as an integral component of the development lifecycle.

• Implement automated tests and conduct functional and regression testing.

• Be adaptable and ready to test/regress a significant volume of changes on a daily basis.
