Software Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.

📋 Description

• Support a variety of software-related activities, including but not limited to assistance with testing, configuration, quality control, deployment, and data editing.

• Execute Geodatabase editing, querying, and analysis tasks utilizing Esri or GeoCurrent software tools.

• Aid in the installation and configuration of Esri, GeoCurrent, and other third-party software applications.

• Deliver technical support to clients for GeoCurrent and Esri software products.

• Monitor daily activities and provide updates to the supervisor.

• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.

• Report any unsafe activities to the supervisor and/or Human Resources.

• Carry out additional approved tasks as assigned by the supervisor and department management.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Geography, Computer Science, or another closely related field, along with a minimum of one (1) year of experience demonstrating proficiency in software applications and the Esri ArcGIS suite of products, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Experience in preparing formal written reports for external clients.

• Professional GIS experience in the utility sector is advantageous.

• Familiarity with ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and SQL Server is a plus.

• Professional experience in client interaction.

• Ability to receive training and achieve a level of Esri certification as directed by the supervisor.
