Software Quality Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Agile teams to facilitate the delivery of new features and enhancements.

• Design, document, and implement test plans, test cases, and testing strategies.

• Conduct functional, integration, system, and regression testing across applications, APIs, and data platforms.

• Assess data quality across both relational and non-relational databases.

• Create and maintain QA automation frameworks utilizing open-source tools (e.g., Selenium, pytest).

• Perform both manual and automated testing to ensure the quality of releases.

• Establish and oversee test data and test environments for integration and QA workflows.

• Monitor, document, and assist in the resolution of defects, including basic root cause analysis.

• Aid CI/CD pipelines by incorporating automated test execution into build and deployment processes.

• Collaborate with offshore and cross-functional teams to synchronize testing efforts.

• Engage in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and the estimation of QA tasks.

• Pursue continuous learning and enhancement of QA processes, tools, and best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• 2–4 years of experience in software quality assurance or testing.

• Experience in testing modern applications developed with C#, Python, Java, or .NET frameworks.

• Practical experience with SQL and relational databases (basic exposure to NoSQL is preferred).

• Familiarity with both manual and automated testing methodologies.

• Knowledge of QA automation tools such as Selenium, pytest, or similar frameworks.

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

• Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or equivalent).

• Experience with Windows and/or Linux environments.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging abilities.

• Effective communication skills and the capacity to collaborate across teams.

• Experience in a cloud environment (Azure preferred).

• Familiarity with API testing tools (Postman, REST Assured, etc.).

• Knowledge of BDD frameworks (e.g., SpecFlow, Cucumber).

• Experience in testing data pipelines, APIs, or systems with heavy integration.

• Understanding of test automation best practices and scalable QA frameworks.

• Exposure to healthcare systems, EDI transactions, or regulated environments.

• Familiarity with DevOps concepts or infrastructure testing.
