Software QA Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Qatar.

📋 Description

• Utilize your expertise in enterprise product integrations to assess both front-end, back-end, and endpoint functionalities throughout our product components.

• Establish best practices and act as the domain expert in Jitterbit product testing.

• Develop and sustain test environments and assets across all supported configurations and endpoints.

• Collaborate closely with Product Management and Development teams to review requirements and designs, offering feedback that identifies bugs and highlights potential improvements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive Quality Engineering Experience – Over 8 years in Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering, showcasing a clear progression in ownership, complexity, and impact across various releases and product cycles.

• Comprehensive Test Strategy & Execution – In-depth experience in designing and implementing extensive test strategies across both front-end and back-end systems. You convert product requirements into thoughtful, risk-based test coverage that safeguards the customer experience.

• Ownership of Test Environments – Demonstrated ability to create, configure, and maintain stable, production-like test environments that facilitate reliable release cycles. You recognize that effective testing relies on robust test beds.

• Quality Metrics & Visibility – Proficient in crafting high-quality bug reports that expedite resolution, and in defining meaningful quality metrics and dashboards that deliver actionable insights — beyond mere data.

• Agile Quality Collaboration – Practical experience within Scrum/Agile teams, contributing beyond test execution by influencing acceptance criteria, enhancing testability, and embedding quality throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

• Expertise in Cloud & Platform Testing – Proficient in testing SaaS/iPaaS and other cloud-based systems across Windows and Linux environments, including containerized and orchestrated deployments (Docker, Kubernetes). Strong knowledge of distributed system architectures and the quality challenges they present — including service dependencies, scalability, and fault tolerance.

• API & Integration Validation Skills – Solid experience in validating REST/SOAP APIs, working with JSON/XML payloads, and testing integrations with databases, CRM/ERP systems, and external services.

• Messaging & Search Systems Experience – Familiarity with testing systems built on Elasticsearch and Kafka, including validating data indexing/search accuracy, event-driven workflows, and message queue reliability under load.

• Tooling & Observability Proficiency – Comfortable using tools such as Postman, SoapUI, Datadog (or similar APM/monitoring platforms), and other utilities to diagnose issues, validate system health, and support efficient test execution.

• Collaborative Product Contributor – Proactively engage with engineering and product teams during design and development phases, asking pertinent questions early to help shape features for testability and reliability.

• Remote Work Excellence – Proven ability to work effectively with distributed teams across different time zones, demonstrating ownership, clarity, and responsiveness.

• Effective Communicator & Process Advocate – Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a self-directed, organized approach and a dedication to improving processes to elevate the quality for the entire team.

• Automation Mindset (Plus) – Experience in test automation using TypeScript or Python is highly desirable, particularly focused on scalability and long-term maintainability.

• AI-Enhanced Productivity – Experience utilizing AI tools to enhance test generation, code quality, analysis, or overall productivity, with a genuine curiosity to explore new possibilities.
