Software Engineering Technical Leader, Backend Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Switzerland.

📋 Description

• Offer technical guidance to a team of engineers focused on developing solutions for customer deployments.

• Contribute to the architecture of backend services.

• Gather and process telemetry data at scale from sources within customer environments.

• Respond to changes in the environment and implement policies at scale across numerous enforcement points.

• Develop low-latency API endpoints capable of handling large data volumes.

• Design and maintain services within complex distributed system environments.

• Enhance the scalability, performance, reliability, robustness, and security of workload security products.

• Architect, design, analyze, and collaborate on solutions that enhance the product and provide customer-facing functionalities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 9+ years of experience in building software systems using one or more programming languages such as Go, C++, or Java.

• Proven technical leadership experience in a software engineering setting.

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.

• Bachelor's degree with at least 11 years of related experience, a Master's degree with 9 years, a PhD with 4 years, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• If lacking a degree, a minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience is required.

• Strong understanding of foundational Computer Science principles, including algorithms, systems, databases, performance engineering, and security architecture.

• Experience in schema/data modeling design.

• Background in large-scale event processing architectures.

• Familiarity with systems programming and performance engineering.

• Experience with security architecture and database design.

• Proficient in Kubernetes.

• Experience in programming with cloud APIs for AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Ability to adopt agile methodologies that involve rapid prototyping, along with feedback from customers, peers, technical solution architects, customer enablement engineers, and support engineers.

• Strong skills in technical leadership and solution architecture.
