Software Engineering Team Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nebraska, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Develop, assess, and deploy high-quality code throughout the full stack for user-facing functionalities and platform enhancements.

• Support the team in achieving its objectives by overseeing work intake, prioritizing tasks, and proactively eliminating obstacles.

• Collaborate with another senior engineer to direct architecture and technical strategy.

• Influence system design and architectural decisions, promoting sound and well-communicated technical choices.

• Champion engineering priorities such as technical debt, tooling, and delivery efficiency across various teams.

• Provide mentorship to engineers within your team and throughout the organization via pair programming, design insights, and code evaluations.

• Collaborate with Product and Design teams to ensure alignment on scope, trade-offs, and feasibility.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in software engineering, including a technical leadership position within a cross-functional team.

• Proven capability to guide a team through intricate technical challenges by fostering consensus rather than merely issuing commands.

• Experience in developing customer-facing single-page applications (SPAs) and backend services using contemporary frameworks (familiarity with AWS, C#, React, or Ember.js is advantageous, but not mandatory).

• Established ability to balance hands-on engineering work with coordination, delivery, and leadership duties.

• Experience in mentoring and enhancing the skills of other engineers through pairing, constructive feedback, and coaching.

• Strong grasp of agile methodologies, lean delivery principles, and iterative product development processes.

• Exceptional communication abilities, comfortable adapting technical concepts for varied audiences.

• Capable of thriving in dynamic, ambiguous environments while maintaining a strong sense of ownership.
