Software Engineering Manager – Servicing Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• You will lead and expand a team of engineers, collaborating closely with Product, Compliance/Legal, and Analytics, while ensuring successful delivery through effective technical decision-making and operational rigor.

• You will gain a comprehensive understanding of the system architecture of the ETL pipelines and the interdependencies with upstream data sources.

• You will be responsible for key outcomes and metrics (such as accuracy, timeliness, completeness, and incident rates) and will spearhead multi-quarter initiatives across the organization that significantly enhance the quality and dependability of the pipeline.

• You will manage and develop a team of engineers, working in close partnership with Product, Compliance/Legal.

• You will ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of your team’s systems.

• You will collaborate with product managers to design and implement top-tier systems and processes for collections.

• You will engage with a diverse range of engineering teams that create solutions throughout the entire lifecycle of loan repayment at Affirm.

• You will establish relationships and connect with senior management within the organization.

• On-Call Rotation - This position includes a requirement for an on-call rotation.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of demonstrated experience in a software engineering role with leadership duties, including at least 2 years as an engineering manager.

• A passion for transforming consumer financial services for the better.

• Previous experience in developing and managing high-performing engineering teams.

• Proficiency in back-end system design.

• Experience in architecting, building, launching, and maintaining consumer-scale products.

• Excellent cross-team communication and collaboration abilities.

• Familiarity with the basic lifecycle of loans and credit reporting is advantageous.
