Software Engineering Manager I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Lead and nurture multidisciplinary teams (Mobile and Backend) by conducting one-on-one meetings, creating individual development plans (IDPs), performing performance evaluations, and focusing on talent retention.

• Interpret and communicate the company’s strategic objectives to the team, ensuring the technical direction aligns with business goals.

• Guarantee the delivery of comprehensive solutions, ranging from in-app experiences to robust backend services, by collaborating closely with Product Managers (PMs), Product Designers, and other leaders.

• Enable effective communication between technical teams and business sectors, ensuring transparency, visibility of timelines, and alignment of expectations.

• Cultivate an atmosphere of psychological safety, teamwork, and ongoing feedback while serving as an ambassador for Stone's culture.

• Advocate for technical excellence through the adoption of best practices (Clean Code, clean architecture, CI/CD, DevSecOps, use of RFCs, and a culture of documentation).

• Track OKRs and monitor team and product health metrics (mobile delivery cycle metrics and DORA metrics for backend).

• Navigate ambiguous situations, distributed architectures, and complex prioritizations, effectively balancing delivery speed with technical debt.

⛳️ Requirements

• Prior experience in leading and managing technology teams utilizing agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).

• A solid technical foundation in software development, with the capability to guide architectural discussions for both the Mobile ecosystem (Android/iOS) and Backend (APIs, Microservices, databases, resilience).

• Experience in environments characterized by scalable, integrated, and high-availability systems.

• Practical expertise in software testing (unit, integration, E2E) and deployment automation pipelines (CI/CD for cloud and/or app stores).

• Understanding of observability, telemetry, and system troubleshooting tools and concepts.

• Exceptional communication skills, empathy, and emotional intelligence to manage conflicts and facilitate the career growth of engineers across various specialties.
