This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Lead engineering teams responsible for compliance systems related to geolocation, state and self-exclusion, responsible gaming, NJ data residency, and prohibited persons.
• Establish benchmarks for security, reliability, and adherence to regulatory standards.
• Create monitoring and alert systems to identify, prevent, and address fraud and compliance infractions.
• Collaborate with Risk, Legal, and Compliance teams regarding regulatory and responsible gaming obligations.
• Enhance login and registration processes for efficient, high-traffic customer interactions.
• Manage gaming controls such as wager limits, session controls, cooling-off periods, self-exclusion, and interventions for problem gambling.
• Supervise geolocation infrastructure and enforce geofencing measures.
• Direct user synchronization processes between internal systems and third-party integrations.
• Maintain systems for detecting, blocking, and auditing prohibited persons.
• Identify and mitigate technical and operational risks.
• Build high-performing engineering teams and implement a roadmap that balances customer experience, compliance, risk management, and player safety.
• Deliver scalable software solutions that safeguard customer data and ensure compliant account experiences.
• Engage with Engineering, Product, Data Science, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Fraud, and Responsible Gaming teams through effective communication and collaboration.
• Create and present roadmaps, vision documents, compliance risk assessments, and incident reports.
• Guide teams through complex challenges related to security, risk, compliance, and geolocation.
• 2-4+ years of experience in managing software engineering teams.
• Proven history of delivering secure and scalable systems in high-risk or regulated environments.
• Experience leading teams or contributing within a Java and AWS ecosystem is preferred.
• Highly desirable experience in building systems for fraud detection, payments, compliance, or responsible gaming.
• Capability to balance strategic vision with in-depth technical execution.
• Excellent communication and storytelling abilities.
• Experience in navigating complex, cross-functional, and regulatory challenges.
• Commitment to operational excellence and the development of resilient, high-trust systems.
• Enthusiasm for mentoring and nurturing engineers and leaders.
• Preferred experience with geolocation and location services, compliance gaming controls, user synchronization and data consistency pipelines, and frameworks for enforcing prohibited persons.
