Software Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Lead and cultivate multidisciplinary teams (Mobile and Backend), conducting one-on-ones, development plans (PDP), performance evaluations, and talent retention initiatives.

• Translate and communicate the company’s strategic objectives to the team, ensuring that the technical direction aligns with business goals.

• Guarantee the delivery of comprehensive solutions, from in-app experiences to robust backend services, collaborating closely with Product Managers (PMs), Product Designers, and other leaders.

• Facilitate effective communication between technical teams and business sectors, ensuring transparency, deadline visibility, and aligned expectations.

• Promote a culture of psychological safety, collaboration, and ongoing feedback, serving as an ambassador for Stone's culture.

• Advocate for technical excellence through best practices (Clean Code, clean architecture, CI/CD, DevSecOps, utilization of RFCs, and a culture of documentation).

• Monitor OKRs and assess team and product health metrics (mobile delivery cycle metrics and DORA metrics for backend).

• Navigate ambiguous scenarios, distributed architectures, and complex prioritizations, balancing delivery speed with technical debt.

⛳️ Requirements

• Prior experience in leading/managing technology teams utilizing agile methodologies (Scrum / Kanban).

• Strong technical expertise in software development, with the capability to steer architectural discussions for both the Mobile ecosystem (Android/iOS) and Backend (APIs, microservices, databases, resilience).

• Experience in environments featuring scalable, integrated, and highly available systems.

• Practical knowledge of software testing (unit, integration, E2E) and automated deployment pipelines (CI/CD for cloud and/or app stores).

• Familiarity with observability, telemetry, and system troubleshooting tools and concepts.

• Excellent communication skills, empathy, and emotional intelligence to resolve conflicts and support career advancement for engineers across various specialties.
