Software Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Lead and nurture multidisciplinary teams (Mobile and Backend), conducting one-on-one meetings, Individual Development Plans (IDPs), performance evaluations, and talent retention initiatives.

• Interpret and deconstruct the company’s strategic goals for the team, ensuring that the technical direction aligns with business objectives.

• Guarantee the delivery of comprehensive solutions, from the in-app experience to the reliability of backend services, collaborating closely with Product Managers (PMs), Product Designers, and other leaders.

• Facilitate effective communication between technical teams and business units, ensuring transparency, visibility of deadlines, and alignment of expectations.

• Cultivate an environment of psychological safety, teamwork, and continuous feedback, acting as an ambassador for Stone’s culture.

• Advocate for technical excellence through best practices (Clean Code, clean architecture, CI/CD, DevSecOps, adoption of RFCs, and fostering a documentation culture).

• Track OKRs and team and product health metrics (mobile delivery cycle metrics and DORA metrics for backend).

• Navigate ambiguous situations, distributed architectures, and complex prioritizations, balancing delivery speed with technical debt.

⛳️ Requirements

• Prior experience leading/managing technology teams utilizing agile methodologies (Scrum / Kanban).

• Strong technical expertise in software development, with the capability to steer architecture discussions for both the Mobile ecosystem (Android/iOS) and Backend (APIs, microservices, databases, resilience).

• Experience in environments with scalable, integrated, and highly available systems.

• Practical knowledge of software testing (unit, integration, E2E) and deployment automation pipelines (CI/CD for cloud and/or app stores).

• Familiarity with observability, telemetry, and system troubleshooting tools and concepts.

• Excellent communication abilities, empathy, and emotional intelligence to manage conflicts and facilitate career development for engineers with various specialties.
