This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Provide leadership and technical knowledge within the engineering domain.
• Build and manage one or more teams that deliver software while adhering to and enhancing engineering best practices.
• Clarify technical requirements, negotiate priorities, and oversee projects to ensure timely delivery by leading daily scrum activities.
• Remove or escalate obstacles to expedite delivery progress.
• Collaborate with product and design partners to develop an ambitious yet achievable roadmap for executives and stakeholders.
• Foster reliable and predictable team execution through clear objectives, data and KPIs, transparency, and continuous improvement.
• Provide KPIs, status updates, and metrics reports to executives and key stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to simplify, optimize, or enhance solutions for the best results.
• Recruit, evaluate, and onboard a diverse array of engineers.
• Lead engineering efforts for Fanatics App products, which include free-to-play games, live events, e-commerce, and new sports-platform experiences.
• Over 1 year of experience managing an engineering team.
• More than 4 years of experience in building highly scalable and fault-tolerant systems.
• Knowledge of a wide range of design methodologies and the ability to deconstruct an architecture for development by various teams.
• Capability to scope projects with targeted deadlines to align with business objectives.
• Skill in identifying essential, triageable, or omittable features and negotiating with Product Management.
• Proficiency in communicating complex technical topics to engineers, technical leaders, marketing and operations teams, as well as non-technical functional leaders.
• Familiarity with Agile software product delivery and SCRUM methodology.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong report writing skills and the capacity to gather, evaluate, analyze, and logically organize information.
• Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and rapid decision-making.
• Team-oriented mindset and a willingness to do whatever it takes to accomplish goals.
• Capability to work cross-functionally within an enterprise environment.
• Preferred: experience in a start-up environment.
• Preferred: solid background in mobile software engineering.
• Preferred: experience with Kotlin Multiplatform and/or Compose Multiplatform.
