This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Lead and manage the delivery of multiple concurrent software projects, ensuring that solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with business goals.
• Stay actively involved when necessary, offering technical guidance, architectural insights, and problem-solving assistance to the team.
• Define and uphold engineering best practices, including coding standards, design patterns, documentation, and testing methodologies.
• Establish and direct code review practices that enhance quality, consistency, and knowledge sharing.
• Oversee, mentor, and nurture a team of software engineers with varying levels of experience.
• Cultivate a robust engineering culture centered on ownership, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Assist in hiring, onboarding, and managing performance as the team expands.
• Guide team members in achieving technical excellence, career growth, and effective delivery.
• Establish and continually refine development operations, including CI/CD pipelines, release practices, and production support workflows.
• Collaborate with Product, Data, Consulting, and Advisory stakeholders to convert business requirements into well-defined technical solutions.
• Balance the speed of delivery with long-term maintainability, reliability, and management of technical debt.
• Help define and adapt the team’s agile or hybrid delivery methodology to best accommodate project and client requirements.
• Contribute to the advancement of STV’s Digital Advisory Products by providing input on the technical roadmap, tools, and platform direction.
• Identify opportunities to enhance engineering efficiency, product quality, and collaboration across teams.
• Support client-facing engagements as needed, confidently representing engineering perspectives with clarity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• A minimum of 8 years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 2–3 years in a technical lead or engineering management position.
• Strong experience in delivering production software using modern architectures, frameworks, and development approaches.
• Proven ability to lead teams while maintaining technical credibility and a hands-on approach.
• Experience managing delivery across multiple projects or products simultaneously.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
