Software Engineer – Quality Assurance & Test Automation, Web, Java

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• You will design, implement, and maintain automated tests for both frontend and backend components, including unit, integration, and regression tests.

• You will develop automated API tests and participate in contract testing when necessary to ensure integration stability.

• You will assist in test automation for web applications using advanced technologies such as Angular/React/TypeScript and Java/Kotlin/Spring Boot.

• You will ensure that automated tests are integrated within CI/CD pipelines to provide prompt and reliable feedback.

• You will contribute to effective test data management to maintain the stability and reproducibility of automated tests.

• You will analyze test outcomes, identify patterns of failure, and collaborate with developers on root-cause analysis.

• You will leverage AI-assisted tools for test generation, maintenance, and analysis, while rigorously validating their output.

• You will work closely with engineers, product management, and UX teams to ensure that requirements are testable and quality risks are addressed early in the process.


⛳️ Requirements

• You possess substantial professional experience as a Software Engineer or Quality Engineer, with a strong emphasis on automated testing.

• You have practical experience in test automation specifically for web applications and APIs.

• You are familiar with modern testing frameworks within web and Java-based environments (e.g., Playwright/Selenium, JUnit, or similar tools).

• You understand how databases and data persistence impact testing strategies and overall test stability.

• You prioritize quality, risk, and maintainability over manual testing execution.

• You have experience utilizing AI-supported tools for testing and recognize the importance of validating results generated by AI.

• You appreciate clean code, maintainable test suites, and dependable automation practices.

• You communicate effectively in English at a C1 level.
