This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collaborates and partners with members of the product team (UX, engineering, and product management) to develop secure, reliable, and scalable software solutions.
• Documents, reviews, and ensures adherence to all quality and change control standards.
• Develops custom code or scripts to automate infrastructure, monitoring services, and testing processes.
• Works with vendors and partners to ensure the successful deployment of critical tools and platforms.
• Designs meaningful dashboards, logging, alerting, and responses to proactively capture and address issues.
• Contributes to enterprise-wide tools that promote destructive testing, automation, and engineering empowerment.
• Assesses new technologies for potential adoption across the organization.
• Engages in and leads review board sessions to promote consistency throughout the enterprise.
• Addresses inquiries from engineers, product teams, or support teams.
• Monitors tools and engages in discussions to enhance collaboration among product teams.
• Provides application support for software operating in a production environment.
• Serves as a technical escalation point for the engineers within the team.
• Offers leadership, mentoring, and coaching to Software Engineers.
• Attracts, retains, and nurtures top talent to build a world-class Software Engineering Team.
• Conducts annual and mid-year reviews by assessing individual development plans and team feedback.
• Encourages collaboration among team members to ensure consistency across product teams while identifying opportunities to expose engineers to career interests.
• Guides team members in strategy, alignment, analysis, and execution tasks within and across product teams.
• Participates in and contributes to learning activities related to modern software design and development core practices (communities of practice).
• Must be at least eighteen years old.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Proficient in an object-oriented programming language (preferably Java).
• 5-7 years of pertinent work experience.
• Experience in managing migration projects.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies.
• Proficient in a modern scripting language (preferably Python).
• Expertise in a modern web application framework such as Ruby on Rails, Spring MVC, or Node.js.
• Skilled in writing SQL queries against relational databases.
• Well-versed in modern product development processes and pipelines.
• Proficient in effective troubleshooting and issue resolution techniques.
• Capable of effective system monitoring and log analysis methods.
• Able to quickly comprehend complex systems.
• Experience mentoring junior team members in Software Engineering fundamentals within a professional context.
• Experience in managing and developing team members in a professional environment.
• Skilled in balancing workloads across teams.
• Experienced in managing vendor relationships.
• Capable of translating high-level strategy into tactical execution.
