Software Engineer Manager – Customer Platform Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Collaborates and works closely with members of the product team (UX, engineering, and product management) to develop secure, dependable, and scalable software solutions.

• Documents, reviews, and ensures compliance with all quality and change control standards.

• Develops custom code or scripts to automate infrastructure, monitoring services, and testing procedures.

• Engages with vendors and partners to ensure the successful implementation of essential tools and platforms.

• Constructs insightful dashboards, logging mechanisms, alerting systems, and responses to ensure issues are identified and resolved proactively.

• Contributes to organization-wide tools aimed at driving destructive testing, automation, and engineering empowerment.

• Assesses new technologies for potential adoption across the organization.

• Participates in and leads review board sessions to promote consistency throughout the organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be at least eighteen years old.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Proficient in an object-oriented programming language (preferably Java).

• 6-8 years of experience in engineering leadership, with a proven record of developing engineers and delivering complex, distributed systems at an enterprise scale.

• Deep expertise in AI-augmented engineering — actively utilizes and promotes tools such as GitHub Copilot, Gemini Enterprise, and Claude, while holding the team accountable for measurable AI integration.

• Comfortable with agentic workflows, MCP integrations, and responsible AI governance within production environments.

• Strong background in modern backend engineering technologies: Java, Spring Boot, GCP, Cassandra, and distributed search technologies (Solr, Elasticsearch, MongoDB).

• Experienced in driving platform reliability, observability, cloud cost optimization, and security compliance across large-scale microservices.

• Capable of leading through uncertainty, managing cross-team dependencies, and facilitating change across a large engineering organization.
