
Software Engineer β Landfill Data Analytics, Scientific Computing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
β’ Conduct enterprise-level statistical analysis to explore trends, patterns, and relationships utilizing statistical methods/tests to derive actionable insights.
β’ Create and train machine learning models to implement algorithms that facilitate predictive analytics, classification tasks (such as land cover change), and operational forecasting.
β’ Design enterprise-level information technology solutions through the analysis, coding, testing, and implementation of new software, as well as modifications/enhancements to existing software applications.
β’ Collaborate with business analysts and/or users to identify requirements. Execute moderately complex analyses of system requirements and existing business processes and information systems.
β’ Work closely with architects to define the design of high-quality technical solutions.
β’ Evaluate systems in development along with associated documentation.
β’ Address customer issues, respond to suggestions for improvements and enhancements, and contribute to software development.
β’ Conduct code reviews and assist in more complex systems planning, scheduling, and implementation.
β’ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field, or alternatively, a High School Diploma or GED (accredited) accompanied by 4 years of relevant experience.
β’ A minimum of 3 years of prior experience (in addition to the educational requirement).
β’ Familiarity with landfill air quality, methane emissions, and operational datasets.
β’ Proficiency in machine learning/modeling, data wrangling, statistical analysis, and scientific research GIS.
β’ Experience in systems development, implementation, upgrades, and analyses.
β’ Knowledge of QA testing, catalyst or unified business modeling, and system design and analysis.
β’ Understanding of enterprise coding standards (for example, Python) with practical experience in writing advanced code.
β’ Capability to perform code reviews.
β’ Awareness of software methodologies.
β’ Aptitude to learn new and emerging technologies.
β’ Ability to lead a group towards consensus, resolve problems, and achieve objectives.
β’ Skill in mentoring and training less experienced peers and individuals.
β’ Adaptability to change.
β’ General understanding of business knowledge and concepts.

β’ Experience in web application development and imaging technology.
