Software Engineer III – Contractor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications that enhance our internal platform.

• Take ownership of feature delivery from technical design through to deployment and post-release support.

• Collaborate closely with Product Managers to clarify requirements and devise practical technical solutions.

• Build and sustain backend services utilizing PHP (Laravel/Lumen) or Python.

• Contribute to frontend features using JavaScript as necessary.

• Create APIs and establish integrations with both internal and external systems.

• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code.

• Operate within an AWS-based infrastructure and manage Git-based deployment workflows.

• Engage in structured code reviews and maintain engineering quality standards.

• Diagnose and resolve production issues as they occur.

• Participate in architectural discussions and initiatives for continuous improvement.

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools to enhance efficiency and quality.

⛳️ Requirements

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience in production environments.

• Demonstrated experience operating at a mid-senior or senior individual contributor level with responsibility for feature delivery.

• Strong backend expertise in PHP (Laravel/Lumen) or Python.

• Proficient in contributing across the stack, including JavaScript-based frontend tasks.

• Experience in building and maintaining API-driven systems.

• Solid background in working with relational databases.

• Experience in deploying and supporting applications in cloud environments like AWS.

• Familiarity with containerized applications and CI/CD workflows.

• Capable of independently transitioning defined features from ready-for-development to deployed production systems.

• A strong collaborator who works effectively with Product and cross-functional teams.

• Comfortable working in a distributed team across various time zones.

• Open to utilizing AI-assisted development tools.

• Must possess a functioning laptop/PC, internet access, and a backup connection.

• Agile professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and adapts strategies to meet evolving business needs.
