Software Engineer II – Chat Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Acquire experience across the entire Unibuddy platform, including web, native, and backend, to create engaging solutions for users and customers.

• Collaborate directly with products that offer tools and experiences for prospective students to connect with universities.

• Empower university staff and ambassadors to facilitate fruitful conversations and gather valuable data, ultimately enhancing yield.

• Utilize a modern tech stack and AI technologies to deliver powerful features to both customers and users.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in Typescript, with additional expertise in Python considered a plus.

• Strong grasp of creating well-architected and reusable components with React, including best practices related to component lifecycle, performance, and state management; or confidence in building scalable backend services and managing infrastructure within the AWS ecosystem.

• Experience in developing applications powered by GraphQL APIs.

• Familiarity with working in a microservice-driven environment.

• Comfortable with constructing robust test suites.

• An advocate for AI, capable of navigating parallel pipelines, agentic tooling, and appreciating the importance of building systems around systems-thinking, testing, validation, and not solely focusing on code generation.

• Proven experience in creating performant, well-architected microservices using popular backend frameworks such as Express or Nest.

• Experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL database solutions, along with an understanding of common design patterns, features, and limitations.
