Software Engineer II – Captive

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Develop features across Octane’s primary platforms utilized by dealerships to secure financing for their customers.

• Contribute to the design and architecture of scalable, maintainable, and high-performance software systems.

• Write clean and efficient code while leveraging AI-assisted development tools throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Create and implement front-end interfaces, back-end APIs, and comprehensive testing suites.

• Establish automated testing suites and validate core functionalities to ensure reliability and prevent regressions.

• Engage in code reviews, enhance the performance of the existing codebase, and troubleshoot complex software issues.

• Collaborate with colleagues and internal teams to enhance product offerings.

• Work collaboratively across departments to refine product features and mentor junior engineers in industry best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in full-stack software development.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (preferred).

• Strong expertise in modern general-purpose programming languages, with primary skills in Python, Java, JavaScript, C#, or Node.js.

• Demonstrated experience in designing, architecting, and implementing scalable end-to-end technical solutions.

• Practical experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.

• Working knowledge of containerization technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.

• Advanced SQL skills and substantial experience with relational database engines (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, DB2, etc.).

• Proficiency in Git-based repository workflows (GitHub, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps), active participation in pull requests, and thorough code reviews.

• Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities, along with a solution-oriented mindset and accountability for deliverable outcomes.
