Software Engineer II, Backend – ML Training, Serving

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Collaborating with your team’s tech lead and manager, you will decompose larger projects into smaller tasks, delivering them in various phases while working with others to ensure your work is completed on schedule.

• You will aid your colleagues and stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle by engaging with engineering teams, clarifying technical limitations, and collaborating on decisions that appropriately weigh risks and trade-offs.

• You will ensure the operations and availability of your team’s artifacts by establishing and tracking metrics, escalating issues when necessary, and supporting ongoing maintenance and on-call responsibilities.

• You will foster a sense of community within your team by participating in growth and development initiatives, including involvement in the interview process.

⛳️ Requirements

• You possess a minimum of 1.5 years of experience as a software engineer.

• You have experience in designing, developing, and launching backend systems and are skilled in either Python or Kotlin.

• You are knowledgeable about the foundational elements of distributed systems and technologies such as AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.

• You excel at transforming straightforward problems or business scenarios into solutions that interface with multiple software components, implementing these solutions by writing clear, comprehensible, well-tested, and extensible code.

• You are adept at navigating extensive codebases, debugging others' code, and providing constructive feedback to fellow engineers during code reviews.

• Your experience reflects a commitment to your growth, as you proactively seek feedback from your team, your manager, and your stakeholders.

• You possess strong verbal and written communication skills that facilitate effective collaboration with our global engineering team.
