Software Engineer II, Backend – Merchant Data Platform EU

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• In collaboration with your team's tech lead and manager, you will decompose larger projects into manageable tasks, deliver them in several phases, and work with others to ensure your work is completed on time.

• You will assist your colleagues and stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle by working closely with product management, design, and analytics, participating in brainstorming sessions, articulating technical limitations, and collaborating on decisions that carefully weigh risks and trade-offs.

• You will ensure the operations and availability of your team's artifacts by creating and tracking metrics, escalating issues when necessary, and supporting ongoing maintenance and on-call responsibilities.

• You will foster a sense of community within your team by engaging in growth and development initiatives, including involvement in the interview process.

⛳️ Requirements

• You possess 2+ years of experience as a software engineer.

• You have a track record of designing, developing, and launching backend systems and are skilled in either Python or Kotlin.

• You are knowledgeable about the foundational elements of distributed systems and technologies such as AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.

• You excel at transforming simple problems or business scenarios into solutions that involve multiple software components, executing these solutions by writing clear, easily comprehensible, well-tested, and extensible code.

• You are adept at navigating a large codebase, debugging others' work, and offering constructive feedback to fellow engineers through code reviews.

• Your experience illustrates a commitment to your personal growth, actively seeking feedback from your team, manager, and stakeholders.

• You possess strong verbal and written communication skills that facilitate effective collaboration with our global engineering team.
