Software Engineer II, Back-end – Card Mgmt, Transaction Processing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Decompose larger projects into smaller, manageable tasks with guidance from the tech lead and manager, delivering results in multiple phases.

• Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics to assist peers and stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle.

• Develop and track metrics to enhance operations and ensure the availability of the team’s artifacts; participate in ongoing operational support and on-call duties.

• Foster a sense of community within your team by engaging in the interview process and other professional growth and development activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 1.5 years of experience working as a software engineer.

• Proven experience in designing, developing, and launching backend systems, with proficiency in either Python or Kotlin.

• Familiarity with the fundamental components of distributed systems and technologies such as AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.

• Capable of transforming a straightforward problem or business scenario into a solution that integrates multiple software components, accomplished by writing clear, comprehensible, well-tested, and extensible code.

• Comfortable working with a large codebase, debugging code written by others, and providing constructive feedback during code reviews.

• Proactive in seeking feedback from team members, managers, and stakeholders for personal development.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills essential for effective collaboration with a global engineering team.

• Requires either equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
