Software Engineer II

📋 Description

• In the role of Software Engineer II within the Developer Platform Team, you will enhance the Scala, Bazel, and CI frameworks that Iterable engineers utilize daily for building, testing, and deploying services.

• Your contributions will simplify codebase modifications, clarify the build graph, and enhance CI reliability during actual production-scale operations.

• Take independent ownership of moderately complex projects; directly contribute to the Bazel build platform and core Scala libraries that are shared across services.

• Assist in shaping Iterable's adoption of AI-driven and agentic engineering methodologies to accelerate complex development processes, ensuring they are safer and more repeatable.

⛳️ Requirements

• Solid software engineering fundamentals in Scala, Java, Kotlin, or any other production language.

• Experience with build systems, dependency management, CI, or testing infrastructure; knowledge of Bazel, SBT, Maven, Gradle, GitHub Actions, or comparable systems is advantageous.

• Ability to troubleshoot intricate build, test, and developer workflow issues and transform recurring problems into straightforward solutions, tools, documentation, or automation.

• A product-oriented mindset regarding developer experience.

• Proficiency in utilizing AI tools such as Cursor, Claude, or similar platforms for practical engineering tasks.

• Sound judgment regarding AI-assisted automation.

• Effective communicator capable of collaborating with service teams.
