Software Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Regularly write, test, and deploy production-quality code, emphasizing maintainability, performance, reliability, and business impact.

• Responsibly utilize AI-assisted development tools to enhance development speed, debugging, testing, and code quality.

• Develop and sustain backend application logic, APIs, service objects, data models, background jobs, and integrations.

• Start to take charge of feature-level or component-level implementations, including delivery and post-release support.

• Work collaboratively with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to convert business objectives into dependable technical solutions.

• Diagnose and resolve production issues, engaging in support escalations as necessary.

• Consistently estimate tasks and deliver within those estimates with growing accuracy and independence.

• Exercise sound judgment in task prioritization and understanding trade-offs.

⛳️ Requirements

• 4–6 years of professional experience in developing web applications.

• Strong backend development expertise, ideally with Ruby on Rails or a similar web framework.

• Experience in designing and maintaining APIs, service objects, data models, background jobs, and integrations.

• Familiarity with relational databases, SQL, data modeling, and debugging production data issues.

• Comfort with working across the stack as necessary, including reading and making minor adjustments in JavaScript/React.

• Proficient in Git, modern CI workflows, automated testing, and production debugging techniques.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to excel in a remote, asynchronous work environment.
