Software Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Lead the design and development of essential systems.

• Architect services utilizing established design patterns to facilitate iterative development and scalability for the future.

• Proactively recognize architectural and coding deficiencies and suggest suitable solutions.

• Prototype, develop, test, and deploy applications effectively.

• Collaborate with the product team and engage with customers, partners, and colleagues to define product requirements.

• Conduct functional and code reviews to enhance the overall readability and maintainability of the code.

• Research and choose the right tools for new or existing applications, focusing on efficiency and security.

• Create and maintain system design and application documentation.

• Mentor junior team members towards achieving strategic objectives and technical proficiency.

• Develop and sustain notebook environments (Python/R) for reproducible cross-dataset bioinformatics analysis.

• Construct reusable workflow templates for spatial and single-cell integration pipelines intended for public dissemination.

• Facilitate federated data access across multi-tenant cloud environments, connecting independent disease research consortia on shared infrastructure.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of professional experience in software development.

• Proven understanding of systems, algorithms, and software design principles.

• A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.

• A self-motivated individual with a desire to learn new technologies and a commitment to enhancing their coding practices.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
