This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collaborate with engineers within the organization and the open source community to address feature requests and bug fixes.
• Take the initiative to identify and clarify uncertainties in product requirements.
• Demonstrate a proactive work ethic, effectively manage time, and excel in a dynamic remote work setting!
• Engage actively in communities of practice through platforms such as Slack and GitHub Issues.
• Integrate software solutions with existing defense systems, ensuring seamless interoperability and compliance with security standards.
• Take ownership of architectural decisions and maintain technical excellence across the engineering team.
• Participate in the on-call rotation for the production environment.
• Create thorough documentation, including design specifications, user manuals, and maintenance guides.
• Contribute to Open Source Projects, with involvement in organizations like the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF), Apache Software Foundation (ASF), or Open Source Security Foundation (OpenSSF) being a significant advantage!
• Keep updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to guide product improvements and innovation.
• Provide technical mentorship and promote elevated engineering standards within the team.
• Shape product direction by thoroughly understanding user needs and system limitations.
• Over 5 years of experience in software engineering.
• Proven experience in developing software tools with a focus on software lifecycle and management.
• Proficient in Go, with additional proficiency in other modern programming languages considered a plus.
• Strong understanding of system design, APIs, databases, and cloud architectures (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Familiarity with OCI Specifications (Image and Distribution).
• Experience in Supply Chain Security (e.g., SBOMs, security scanning, etc.).
• Enthusiastic about tackling complex problems, proposing solutions, and implementing them effectively.
• Familiar with Core Kubernetes Concepts.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, comfortable presenting technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
