Software Engineer – Developer Experience

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Implement and uphold CI/CD systems along with solutions that enhance developer productivity.

• Provide support for scheduled and on-demand maintenance for Dremio’s CI/CD infrastructure.

• Identify areas for improvement and execute changes to boost system efficiency and effectiveness.

• Resolve issues for Dremio engineers through playbooks, short-term workarounds, documentation, and automation.

• Work on infrastructure across AWS, GCP, and Azure platforms.

• Manage access to critical infrastructure components.

• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines and related systems.

• Automate workflows for local development environments.

• Analyze performance bottlenecks, ascertain root causes, log defects, follow up with developers, and document solutions.

• Ensure development branches remain functional and up-to-date.

• Automate software release processes to delivery endpoints.

• Report on the status, reliability, and robustness of CI/CD systems.

• Engage in code reviews.

⛳️ Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience with large-scale distributed systems.

• Proven knowledge and experience with at least one cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Basic understanding of cloud networking and architecture.

• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, C++, Python, or Go.

• Familiarity with Maven or similar build systems.

• Practical experience in pipeline automation utilizing CI/CD tools like Jenkins.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code practices.

• Proficient in using Terraform, BASH, Docker, Jenkins, and Kubernetes.

• Capable of writing technical reports that effectively summarize key data.

• Working knowledge of data lakes and data warehousing is a plus.

• Proficiency with SQL is a bonus.
