Software Engineer, Data Team

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Construct and define the next-generation multi-tenant data platform.

• Design and enhance a Python data API utilizing a layered router → service → repository architecture.

• Transition business and data logic from outdated SQL Server stored procedures into testable Python code.

• Implement parameterized SQL for data extraction and utilize pandas for data computation and transformation.

• Incorporate additional modern data sources and warehouses, such as Snowflake, via a unified API.

• Collaborate across the expanding data platform.

• Prioritize data accuracy, performance, and the movement and reconciliation of large datasets from diverse sources.

• Deploy and manage solutions using Docker, infrastructure-as-code, Azure, and DevOps methodologies.

• Contribute to defining the architecture and vision of the next-generation data platform.

• Report directly to Thomas Garrett.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering/Development, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in software development.

• Strong expertise in Python (3.12+) backend development.

• Familiarity with FastAPI, Pydantic v2, and async/await programming.

• Solid command of T-SQL.

• Advanced knowledge of SQL Server and data engineering practices.

• Proficient in parameterized query creation.

• Skills in query optimization and execution-plan analysis.

• Experience with indexing strategies.

• Competence in set-based processing.

• Expertise in bulk / ETL data movement.

• Ability to tune performance for large datasets.

• Comfort with migrating logic from legacy stored procedures to Python.

• Familiarity with modern cloud data platforms and warehouses, including Snowflake.

• Interest in unifying multiple heterogeneous data sources behind a single API.

• Adequate Azure and DevOps skills to deploy and manage your creations.

• Successful completion of pre-employment background checks, including identity and right-to-work verification where applicable.
