Software Engineer – Cross Functional

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Contribute to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software applications within a collaborative and multifunctional team.

• Collaborate closely with other software engineers, senior technical leaders, and product organization members to deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure solutions.

• Enhance technical expertise through hands-on experience, participate in technical design discussions, and take responsibility for delivering features from development to production support.

• This position is ideal for engineers with several years of experience who are ready to deepen their technical capabilities and make a more significant contribution to the team's outcomes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field (Required)

• 3+ years of experience with:

• o One or more relevant programming languages

• o Software development principles and lifecycle

• o Hands-on work with projects similar in complexity to the responsibilities of Engineer II at MAPFRE

• Java – Proficient (Level 2): Solid understanding of Java and basic programming concepts

• Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Batch – Advanced Beginner (Level 1): Basic understanding of the Spring ecosystem

• Git/GitHub – Advanced Beginner (Level 1): Ability to use Git through CLI or IDE

• Python – Proficient (Level 2): Fundamental scripting and automation skills

• AWS – Advanced Beginner (Level 1): Basic understanding of cloud concepts; AWS certifications are a plus

• Event Messaging (RabbitMQ, SQS, Kafka) – Novice (Level 0)

• Databases (Oracle, MongoDB, Aurora, DynamoDB) – Advanced Beginner (Level 1)

• English - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
