Software Engineer, C++/Java

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of our Java client library, ensuring it is reliable, thoroughly tested, and user-friendly for external integrations.

• Design, create, and sustain high-performance server applications using C/C++.

• Develop message parsers and feed handlers for direct market data streams from trading platforms.

• Enhance the existing codebase to achieve high throughput (millions of messages per second, exceeding 40+ gigabits) and minimal latency (measured in nanoseconds).

• Create tools and libraries for managing and analyzing petabyte-scale data.

• Work with the systems team to establish best practices for build, deployment, and CI/CD processes.

• Implement monitoring solutions to enhance application uptime.

• Ensure seamless feature deployments and updates.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of full-time software engineering experience, ideally at a trading firm, technology company, or rapidly growing startup.

• Strong expertise in both C/C++ and Java.

• Familiarity with C# is advantageous.

• Proven experience in designing APIs with a strong emphasis on intuitive and developer-friendly interfaces.

• Knowledge of open-source best practices, including release management, versioning, changelogs, issue triage, and backward compatibility.

• Understanding of systems programming, algorithms, data structures, multithreading, networked I/O, serialization, CPU architecture, kernel, and compilers.

• Experience in managing multiprocess environments.

• Proficient with debugging tools such as lldb/gdb.

• Strong communication skills and a solid work ethic suitable for a remote work environment.

• A keen interest in low-level optimization and performance engineering.

• An enthusiasm for financial data or algorithmic trading.
