Software Engineer – Backend

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• You will be the architect responsible for designing and building the dependable, scalable systems that underpin Coverflex's compensation platform.

• Work closely with product managers and designers throughout the entire process from discovery to delivery.

• Take ownership of significant challenges from start to finish, delivering features that simplify, ensure compliance, and enhance the user experience of complex compensation.

• Release impactful features that influence your team's key performance indicators.

• Develop robust, scalable infrastructure.

• Enhance system quality and performance through careful optimizations.

• Lay down strong foundations by incorporating proper testing coverage, observability, documentation, and design patterns.

⛳️ Requirements

• Solid understanding of backend engineering principles.

• A production-ready approach (including testing, observability, and monitoring).

• Experience in deploying small pull requests with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD).

• Ability to think from a product perspective.

• A collaborative spirit and ease of working with others.

• Professional experience with Elixir/Phoenix (preferred but not mandatory).

• Experience in multi-market B2B SaaS (preferred but not mandatory).

• Background in fintech or regulated industries (preferred but not mandatory).

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development practices (preferred but not mandatory).
