Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native applications on AWS utilizing serverless and container-based architectures.

• Create full-stack features, encompassing user interfaces and backend services.

• Develop and support containerized services operating on ECS/Fargate with images stored in ECR.

• Implement and uphold CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.

• Take ownership of the architecture and technical direction for a new cloud-native application.

• Lead design decisions for services, REST APIs, and data pipelines.

• Design and implement data pipelines and workflows utilizing AWS Glue (PySpark) and Step Functions.

• Ensure the application is scalable, secure, and reliable within a regulated (HIPAA) environment.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, design, and engineering.

• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• Over 7 years of software engineering experience.

• Proven experience in building cloud-native applications on AWS.

• Strong frontend development skills with React and TypeScript.

• Backend proficiency with Python and REST APIs.

• Experience with distributed systems, event-driven architecture, or data pipelines.

• Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL.

• Experience contributing to system design and architectural decisions.

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills across teams and levels.

• A proactive individual who identifies problems and leads with solutions.

• Ability to navigate ambiguity and bring clarity to complex problem areas.

• Ownership mindset with a focus on delivering measurable outcomes.

• Strong awareness of product and business considerations when making technical decisions.

• Comfortable with giving and receiving constructive feedback.

• A pragmatic approach to balancing speed, quality, and technical debt.

• Experience in healthcare, pharmacy, or other regulated environments.

• Knowledge of HIPAA and PHI requirements.

• Familiarity with Apache Iceberg or modern data lake technologies.

• AWS certifications.
