Senior Software Engineer, Product

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Design and develop full-stack features throughout the integration ecosystem — from React/Next.js frontend experiences to Python and Go backend services that connect Rewst with external platforms.

• Establish and uphold connector infrastructure, API integrations, and data synchronization pipelines that Managed Service Providers (MSPs) rely on daily.

• Adopt an AI-centric approach to development — leveraging LLM assistants as essential tools for coding, debugging, code review, and documentation, while contributing to AI-driven features built on AWS Bedrock using Claude models.

• Implement GraphQL queries, mutations, and backend resolvers utilizing Apollo Client and our Go/Python API layers, engaging throughout the complete request lifecycle.

• Create automated tests (unit, integration, and component) as part of a test-driven development workflow, ensuring connector reliability across a wide integration surface.

• Engage in code reviews, providing and receiving feedback on stacked diffs, and assisting in elevating the quality standards across the codebase.

• Work closely with Product Managers, Designers, and partner-facing teams on integration design, acceptance criteria, and edge case management — delivering ecosystem features that are not only functional but also robust.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 7 years of programming experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a senior or tech-lead role.

• Full-stack expertise: proficient in TypeScript/React.js on the frontend and at least one of Python or Go on the backend, with a willingness to work across all three technologies.

• Experience with designing or utilizing REST and/or GraphQL APIs, including third-party integration projects.

• Proven track record in building maintainable and testable codebases, encompassing API design, error handling for external services, and unit testing methodologies.

• Demonstrated AI-first development practice: regular use of LLM assistants (e.g., Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) for coding, debugging, and documentation, with the ability to critically assess AI outputs and effectively iterate on prompts.
