Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• A primary responsibility of this position is to serve as a hands-on contributor.

• Design, develop, maintain, and scale the systems and services of Coupa’s platform.

• Engage in operational design and conduct code reviews.

• Architect and create reusable microservices along with other platform components.

• Develop frameworks to standardize and facilitate data flows through APIs, files, and message queues.

• Promote best practices such as unit testing, automation testing, code reviews, and ensuring code quality.

• Collaborate with other teams to simplify the deployment and operation of platform components.

• Demonstrate strong teamwork skills and effective communication with colleagues.

• Discover innovative, elegant, and maintainable solutions to complex challenges.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4-5 years of experience in software development.

• Proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages: Ruby, Go (preferred), or Java.

• Strong experience with modern MVC web frameworks, particularly Ruby on Rails is highly preferred.

• Proven knowledge of software development best practices and design patterns.

• Experience in developing RESTful APIs.

• Familiarity with high-throughput message queuing systems such as Kafka, Resque, etc.

• Background in building microservices using languages like Golang or Java.

• Experience with cloud-native architectures and technologies, including Kubernetes and EC2.

• Experience working in an agile setting that adheres to Scrum or other agile methodologies.

• Knowledge of both SQL and NoSQL databases, including MySQL, Redis, and MongoDB.

• Self-motivated, driven, with a passion for learning and excellent communication skills.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent) or equivalent professional experience.
