This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
β’ Develop and sustain features on our primary insurance platform, including quoting, policy management, broker-oriented workflows, and integrations with external data sources (e.g., KYND).
β’ Engage in the development of AI-driven underwriting tools that evaluate cyber risk indicators and provide actionable insights, ensuring data accuracy and system reliability throughout the process.
β’ Produce clean, thoroughly tested, and well-documented code across the entire stack while collaborating with senior engineers.
β’ Take part in design discussions and architectural decision-making with a focus on security, in alignment with our SOC 2 compliance standards.
β’ Collaborate closely with underwriting and actuarial teams to convert domain requirements into effective technical solutions.
β’ Foster continuous enhancement through proactive code reviews, identification of technical debt, and a dedication to engineering excellence and scalability.
β’ 2β5 years of professional software engineering experience in a production setting.
β’ Expertise in Python and TypeScript, particularly with React/Next.js; comfortable managing tasks across the entire stack.
β’ Profound understanding of software engineering principles: clean code, SOLID principles, design patterns, and API-first methodologies.
β’ Strong knowledge of relational databases, GraphQL API design, data modeling, and concepts related to distributed systems.
β’ Familiarity with event-driven architectures, data pipelines, or integrations with third-party data sources.
β’ Security-focused mindset β you write code with a strong emphasis on data integrity, access controls, and SOC 2 compliance from the outset.
β’ Capability to clearly communicate technical trade-offs to non-engineering stakeholders, such as underwriters and actuaries.
β’ Authentic intellectual curiosity about the convergence of technology, data, and risk β you aim to comprehend the business context, not just the codebase.
β’ Proficiency with AWS, Docker, Apache Airflow, Neo4j, and CDNs.
