Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of moderately complex backend features and services in Go on GCP, managing the entire process from design to production with necessary support.

• Produce clean, tested, and production-ready code, continuously enhancing it when discrepancies arise.

• Engage in data ingestion and validation workflows, gaining insights into managing unstructured enterprise data.

• Participate in code reviews, offering and receiving constructive and direct feedback.

• Assist in infrastructure and configuration tasks using Terraform, with guidance from senior engineers.

• Contribute to operational tasks by enhancing observability tools, creating documentation, and preparing for on-call duties as you develop in the role.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in software engineering.

• Understanding of backend engineering principles: data structures, APIs, databases, and systems thinking.

• Proficiency in Go or a strong background in another statically typed language with a demonstrated eagerness to learn Go is essential.

• You produce code that you are proud to have reviewed: it is readable, tested, and well-structured.

• A curious mindset and a systematic approach to debugging and data-related issues; capable of reasoning through systems that you did not create.

• Experience with GCP or another cloud platform.

• Familiarity with or a strong interest in data pipelines, validation logic, or workflow systems.

• Exposure to security or infrastructure domains.
