Software Engineer, AI Product

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Collaborate across different functions to design and implement AI-driven features that provide value to customers and integrate LLMs within Vanta’s current products and systems. You will partner with fellow product engineers at Vanta to explore how AI technologies can enhance product adoption.

• Conduct evaluations, establish guardrails, and monitor performance while reviewing customer usage to consistently enhance quality.

• Work alongside AI Platform engineers to develop foundational AI systems and tools that expedite the efforts of product teams.

• Make practical decisions that balance business priorities, user experience, and a sustainable technical infrastructure.

• Guide and mentor engineers, promote strong technical and product instincts, and exemplify a collaborative, high-ownership engineering culture.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in the software engineering industry.

• Proven track record of shipping LLM-supported products, with experience in prompting, RAG, and/or agent frameworks.

• Proficient in designing, developing, and scaling full-stack applications, including backend systems, APIs, and frontend interfaces. Familiarity with TypeScript, React, and Node.js is preferred, or a willingness to learn!

• Experience in enhancing AI systems, creating evaluation sets, and driving quality improvements.

• Demonstrated experience in mentoring engineers and working collaboratively with product and design teams.

• Background in rapidly growing startups and large organizations, particularly those that emphasize a bias for action.

• Action-oriented, with a readiness to engage directly with users and take initiative.
