Software Engineer 2 – Streaming Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of, develop, manage, and expand streaming services and their supporting tools.

• Engage in an on-call rotation while enhancing stability and automation within the services.

• Contribute to architectural definitions with innovative and creative solutions.

• Take charge of refining team processes.

• Create automation and tools that enhance service scalability and reliability.

• Utilize innovation time to generate creative concepts.

• Collaborate with a globally distributed team to build expertise and establish best practices for operating highly reliable streaming services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in developing back-end services using Flink, Kafka, or other streaming platforms; experience with large-scale systems is a plus.

• Proficiency in software development using Java and the ability to adapt to various languages and frameworks.

• Familiarity with distributed systems, concurrency, and scalability within a production setting.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, regularly delivering production code using Agile methodologies, tools, and techniques.

• A collaborative approach that involves colleagues in key decisions and promotes shared code ownership.

• Strong proficiency in English.

• Experience with Apache Flink is an added advantage.

• Familiarity with developing software in large-scale production Kubernetes environments is a bonus.

• Experience with New Relic or similar observability solutions for services and infrastructure is a plus.
